Where’s the Remote!?!

I had the news on Monday evening as I waited for Scott’s arrival home from work. Mason was playing in his room. Morgan was coloring at the dining table. The first words out of the reporter’s mouth was “One woman and two children were killed…”, and without missing a beat, Morgan says in an excited voice, “Hey Mommy, two children were killed!” I couldn’t change the channel fast enough. I distracted Morgan (and she didn’t’ mention it again), and passed the news on to Scott once he was home. We had to wait till the kids went to bed to discover the full story. On Monday, June 30th, a 69 year old man ( Sydney Native) who just recently moved to a small city called Cowra, killed his wife with an axe, and drowned his grandson (7 years old), and granddaughter (5 years old). He also attacked his daughter, but she managed to escape to a neighbor’s house for help. He was apprehended the following morning. It’s a huge story since this is not a normal occurrence. No one knows the motive as of yet. It breaks my heart, especially with the grandchildren. I can’t imagine what caused this. I’ll keep you posted when we find out more.
