The track maintenance was for the weekend, so it was a bus to the main train station for our next trip. Scott and I were in great need of a quiet date lunch which meant back to IKEA. So on Sunday, June 29th we headed out for Rhodes yet again. We missed the first train heading out, and had to wait an hour for the next one. We arrived at Rhodes in shock and disbelief. This was not the same place we traveled to before. The ant piled had been kicked again. There was a long line of cars just waiting to get into the parking garage. We did not witness this last week. It took us 25 minutes to check the kids into child care, another 25 minute wait for our food. Our quiet date lunch consisted of sharing a table with others, listening to screaming kids, and speed eating so we could pick up a couple of items before our child watch time was up. As we stood in the check out aisle, we were amazed to see this family of four laughing at their youngest child (had to be two years old) for throwing a full out, red faced, uncontrollable temper tantrum. I mean this little girl was screaming at the top of her lungs, running around hitting her parents, and falling to the floor kicking. And what does the mom do? -Takes out her camera while laughing to take a picture. I know, I know – it is funny, but not something to laugh at during. This is not going to be cute when she’s 10 or 15 and still doing this. Laugh later when the child has been handled properly. Needless to say, we were ready to go home. Missed the train yet again, and another hour wait. We had two train stops before our bus ride. On the second one, we heard someone shouting. Everyone turned to check out what was going on. It was too far for us to see exactly what had transpired, but the cops arrived in seconds. I was impressed. By the time we got home, we were exhausted. And Mason had a fever.
