Saturday (June 21st) Scott and I were feeling a bit overwhelmed and discouraged. Please don’t get me wrong. We are so blessed and thankful to be in Australia. But it is a bit of a culture shock. Plus, it’s not like we were just coming here on vacation. We’ve had to basically jump in and function in a new country. We had heard rumors of an IKEA store about 35 minutes away via train. Sure enough those rumors are true. As an anchor store for the mall, there IKEA stood in its blue and yellow. Mason and Morgan leaped with excitement. If you have never been to an IKEA store, they have an indoor children’s play area with an hour time limit for parents to shop without the little ones. Scott and I quickly felt so much better as we began to see reasonable prices, and were able to complete most of our shopping list. We also noticed the same in regards to prices when we walked through the mall. It seems the closer you are to downtown Sydney, the more expensive it is. I guess that’s the same no matter where you are. We now know if we need to do some serious shopping, we head out to Rhodes (the suburb where this mall is located).
