Exploring the Neighborhood

On Monday, June 23rd, the kids and I set out to explore Milsons Point. Our first stop was a playground, Bradfield Park, which overlooks the Harbour Bridge. You can also see the Opera House in the distance as well. It’s a very popular park with kids of all ages. We have seen middle school students hang out there in the late afternoon, and have witnessed grown men playing on the see-saw. We walked down towards the Olympic pool which borders the shoreline. It was quite cold that day, but it did not stop some people from swimming. We walked around Lavender Bay which leads you to Sydney’s best (and only) amusement park, Luna Park. The kids were dying to go in, but I want to wait for Scott. Plus it is a bit expensive. Entry is free. Rides are $8 per person, per ride. $5 per child. When the trail ended for Lavender Bay, we decided to go under the train bridge, and low and behold – found another playground… empty. The kids had a blast – it has one of the longest slides I have ever seen. It was a nice find because it reminded me of back home – more open without the feel of a big city. We plan to head back there soon.

Wow! Foreigners must not think that Disney is expensive at all then! Must be a deal to them! Crazy!
