All Aboard The Womack Express

Our first stop after getting off the plane was customs. Quick and easy. Next stop – Luggage! Oh my! We had 12 suitcases and 4 carry on pieces – a grand total of 16 bags. It was stressful to say the least. We were a slow moving train with our three carts in tow. Scott was the engine, Mason in the middle, and I was the caboose. Australians will run over you – even if you are trying to get out of their way (well, can’t say for now about all Australians, but most in Sydney), so our journey from baggage claim to the taxi area was rough. Mason’s luggage kept falling off the cart. (He did such a good job! We were so proud of him.) Once we found a taxi that could fit all of our stuff, we were off to our new apartment. It was in the taxi cab when it hit me – we are far from home! But I did have a few reminders of Florida to help ease the shock. The license plates for Queensland say “The Sunshine State”, and their tolls are called E-passes. OK, but this driving on the left side of the road is insane. And it’s not just for vehicles, it’s even when walking.
