Are We There Yet?

The kids were way beyond tired as we approached our gate. Within seconds two Qantas airline representatives approached me requesting that I put my carry on luggage in the bin to see if it met requirements. Even though Qantas allows 75 pound bags for check in, they only allow 15 pounds for carry on requirements with the size much smaller as well. Three of our pieces were taken away for check in luggage. It was bitter sweet. On one hand I was relieved of the four bag burden, but fearful my contents would be lost, stolen, and/or damaged. Mason did pretty well, but Morgan was so punch drunk. She was asleep before the plane even took off. Mason was interested in the personal TV set in front of him, but we quickly made sure he knew that sleep came first. The kids and I managed to sleep the first 7 to 8 hours on the flight. We all did pretty well except for the last hour. We all got restless, but we managed. We landed at 6 AM on June 18th – Sydney time.
