A New Tradition

As we left Ray’s Pizza, Morgan and I said our good-byes to the boys. It was now officially our girls’ night out! We arrived 45 minutes prior to the doors opening. With a long line forming, why not waste time by checking out the show’s souvenirs? A T-shirt and a lapel pin later, we joined the queue. To my surprise, not many little girls were waiting to see the red-headed mermaid. Excitement overwhelmed my little girl’s body in the form of jumping. And I’m not talking hop scotch style. It was David Lee Roth crazy all the way! Thankfully the people around us thought it was amusing. After a quick lesson in how to contain our joy, the doors opened and we found our seats. I love the theaters at Broadway. They are so quaint, and not a bad seat in the house. Our seats were on the orchestra level. One of the employees immediately handed us a booster seat and said, “You will definitely need this.” (So thoughtful!) There was plenty of bonding time while we anticipated the curtain call. All of sudden in mid-Morgan incessive chatting, the lights were dimmed to dark. The look on my daughter’s face melted my heart. A new tradition has been started! The show is a must “sea”! It exceeded my expectations! And forget about Ariel – Ursula stole the show! Here are a few clips:

We had the same performers for our show that are in these clips.

The quality on this next video is not great, but you can still witness Ursula's fabulous performance.

How those performers can sing and act while wearing a dance shoe’s version of Heelys is beyond me! The only time Morgan got upset is when they stopped for intermission. She thought it was the end and protest quite loudly how Ariel still needed to marry Prince Eric!

What a turn around! – A day saved by Broadway!
