Start Spreading the News…

“We are leaving today! We want to be a part of it – New York, New York!” My poor kids were so sick of that song after two full days of me singing it. I would utter one note and immediately their hands would cover their ears. Poor Scott too – he had just arrived from Baltimore last night, and is now hopping right back on a plane – and back to the cold weather. He truly loves his family to put up with all of this. And one more side note before the trip details, I was shocked to see the amount of people in the Orlando Airport coming and going. Are we really in a recession?

Our flight arrived ahead of schedule placing us in the Big Apple by 1:00, we were in a Taxi by 1:30, and in our hotel by 2:00. By this time I was hungry. As we were closing in on Time Square, Scott pointed out Magnolia Bakery. As soon as we walked into our hotel room, I praised my hubby for finding this wonderful confectionary dreamland. He had no clue what I was talking about. He only knew of one location, and it was NOT where we had just been. “But you pointed it out to me right before we arrived at our hotel,” I exclaimed! Scott’s eyes got wide as he said, “Woman, you must be hungry, because I was pointing to the Radio City Music Hall sign, you know, the HUGE building.” Thanks to the Renaissance staff, two platters were brought to our room (thanks to Scott’s platinum status). One was filled with fruit, cheese and crackers, the other cookies. After loading up on some unhealthy carbs, we decided to explore the city. First stop – Magnolia Bakery…oops, I meant 30 Rockefeller Center. (Side note: The bakery is located on the block corner of 30 Rock and Radio City Music Hall, and I had to laugh when I saw it next to these gigantic landmarks. I WAS hungry!)

M & M's First Taxi Ride

They were too interested in the TV to notice the city sights.

Rockefeller Center

After exploring the entire circumference of the block, we crossed the street to visit St. Patrick’s.
