End of Day One in NYC

Before heading back to the Renaissance, the bright lights of Time Square beckoned us to soak in the sights and sounds of this famous New York spot. The sensory overload created a trance over all of us which we were finally able to break free from once we realized there was another toy store to explore.

The minute we walked in, I realized my initial mistake. The Ferris wheel was at Toys-r-us! The kids were amazed at the sight of this huge ride INSIDE a store. While on the ride we saw two more unique features: (1) A mechanical T-Rex – the original from Jurassic Park courtesy of Steven Spielberg himself. (2) The biggest Barbie doll house I had ever seen! The kids were in heaven! Unfortunately my headache never quite disappeared. The pain at this point brought me to a screeching halt. Plus our little cherubs were exhausted. While we dragged all of our bodies through the masses of people on Time Square, we happened to catch a glimpse of the Naked Cowboy. It was one of my missions while there to achieve a photo op with him, but we were sure many opportunities would emerge. It was truly an amazing first day in New York City. Scott and I wondered how in the world we were going to top it! OK – Pack the bags, we are going home! (LOL!)
