As we were waiting for the food to come out, I took Morgan to the bathroom. While we were gone, a young woman walked into the establishment. Scott tells me how strange it was that this woman takes off her coat for three guys she’s sitting with to display her attire. Her outfit was more for a club than for a deli. Right before Morgan and I returned, Scott overheard the staff say Paris Hilton had just walked into the restaurant. We were so intrigued! I tried so hard not to turn my head around every 10 seconds. In the meantime, I thought it would be funny to teach Morgan Paris’s signature quote. I asked her to repeat the sentence, and the first words out of her mouth were… “My food is not hot! What’s hot? What do you mean hot?” This went on for about five minutes until she finally repeated the quote. I guess her rendition of “That’s hot!” inspired my brave husband to approach the multi-millionaire reality TV star to humbly ask for a photo op with his daughter. I, on the other hand, could not muster up the courage to approach Ms. Hilton for two reasons: (1) I didn’t want to bother her. Most famous people want their privacy, especially when they are out in public and are obviously trying to hide their identity. (2) Due to her reality shows, I knew she could be mean. I feared rejection for my valiant two. In dread of jinxing the encounter, I dared not turn around to witness the interaction. After five minutes, Morgan and Scott return with smiles… and a photo of our princess with Paris. I will have to acquire Scott’s version of the experience, but for now you’ll have to rely on second hand info. ;-)
This is where Paris was sitting in comparison to our table.

Scott said they were very happy to meet Morgan. Paris took off her sunglasses and asked our daughter her name. Then Ms. Hilton picked up Morgan to place our little princess on her lap for the photo op. I know I am missing more details, but those three are the ones that stick out the most. My perception of the hotel heiress has changed due to her gentle and kind display with my husband and daughter. We also found out who the guy is sitting next to her in the photo. His name is Doug Reinhardt, a minor league baseball player for the Baltimore Orioles organization, and before that – LA. Due to a knee injury, Reinhardt took to the reality scene himself and became a cast member on “The Hills” (Season Four).
The paparazzi appeared ten minutes after Scott and Morgan left their table which prompted the fashion icon to exit the scene.

We left fifteen minutes after that. As we walked out the door, all three of the guys were still their – waving and saying good-bye to Morgan. She threw out the shy, flirty vibe – waved and threw kisses back at them. It was so sweet. What a great start to our New York adventure!

You are such a good writer! I want more!
Paris just went on record that Doug is "THE one". Maybe Morgan will be in her wedding!
Love the Strawberry Fields photo on the blog!
