Mason knew without a doubt who he wanted to be for Halloween by June of this year. He had never seen the T.V. show, but had viewed trailers for the new movie called: Star Trek. My little adventure guy was very intrigued with what images he saw, but as a Trekkie purist, I felt it necessary for him to watch the Classic series first. After one episode both of my offspring were hooked. Needless to say how thrilled I was. Dressing up as an original Star Fleet officer has been a long time dream of mine. I actually have had most of the props for over 15 years now just dying to have a reason to open the boxes. And thanks to Wal-Mart online, I could afford the light blue polyester dress. It retails for $60, (I am NOT kidding!) but I got it for $25 plus $1 shipping. Oh believe me; I will get my money’s worth out of it. Hopefully one of these days I will be able to get Scott into a red shirt as the ship’s engineer.
We had a great night trick or treating. After two hours of walking in my three inch heeled go-go boots, I was ready to be beame

d up. But before we transported home, we sat and chatted with a few of our neighbors while passing out candy to all the ghouls and goblins. Before my very eyes I witnessed the strangest, most unexplainable thing I had seen that night… my kid were more interested in giving out the candy then getting it. It looks like we might have a new Halloween tradition next year (and less candy around the house as well!)

Whenever anyone calls Star Trek "new", it's time to take a step back. I'm glad you took their education seriously and started with the classics.
Love the costumes! Passing out candy is our favorite part of the night too.
LOVE the costumes...but I wondered where was "Scotty" in his red shirt?? Guess he was behind the camera. My idea--buy your chief engineer the red shirt as a Christmas gift. :)
