Our M & M’s have joined the Flag Football league at our local YMCA. That’s right, I mentioned BOTH of our spawn. Morgan was hooked after playing for Ms. Heiselman’s class. She immediately demanded to sign up for the sport right after scoring her first touchdown. It is very interesting to watch their team which was unanimously named The Gators. If you total up all of the experience each team member possesses, well then you would get a whopping one to two hours. Regardless of their rookie skills, they are all eager to soak up the plays and expand their football knowledge… when they are not EASILY distracted. Our coaches are simply amazing, wonderful and patient individuals. They truly tailor their coaching techniques to each child. Before our little Gators started their very first game, each player got to choose their jersey number (and I say jersey loosely – they look more like soccer shirts to me). Morgan picked #10. Mason picked #13. It did not dawn on me until half time when Mason put his arm around his little sister what those two numbers together mean. I started to get a bit
vaklimped as the number combination registered back to when Scott and I used to text beeper numbers. Yes, that’s right, I said beeper, and yes, I know that dates me way back a bit… and so will this. You see, Scott and I were big X-Files and Millennium fans during the 90’s (OK, OK and still are) . I would text Scott “2000” for his show. Scott would text me “1013” for mine. My number came from the creator, Chris Carter’s wife’s birthday, but to me it meant “I love you”. And then there Scott and I were … sitting at our children’s first flag football game and before our very eyes, the products of our love, with numbers reading “I love you” like a billboard on the back of their uniforms. I was overwhelmed with emotion, but not so much as to where I couldn’t snap a shot of the priceless moment. 1013 truly means love in this family!

Isn't this universe amazing?! Great story.
I love this...and I teared up reading it!
THIS is why we blog. This wonderful, sweet, touching story. Without a blog, how else would this memory be captured, shared and preserved? 1013 you!
