Back to School Bowling Bash

Two years ago, the good Lord handpicked a very special Kinder-garten teacher for my little boy. Ms. Heiselman is such an amazing teacher. She puts her heart and soul into every little detail as well as goes above and beyond what is required. One of her annual traditions is a bowling party two weeks prior to school starting. Due to being out of the country last year, this was our first time participating. Morgan was especially excited because in her heart and mind, Ms. Heiselman will be her Kindergarten teacher too. She has also shared Mason’s Preschool Teacher, Mrs. Barretto (another superb instructor), so I can see why she expects it. Believe me, I pray this is true!

When Ms. Heiselman throws a party, the entire former students’ families are all invited. It was a huge event full of laughter, smiles, hugs, watching out for your toes when the bowling balls dropped, moon walking (Mason could not resist the slick floors.) and conversation. Mason’s former Kindergarten classmate, Juliana, became one of our bowling buddies for the day. We were also very happy to see, Ms. Heiselman’s sister, Ms. Laura, who has recently moved to Alabama. She has been helping her sister’s classes for the past three years. Ms. Laura will be greatly missed. One thing that really stood out from the bash was seeing each child yell out their former teacher’s name and RUN to go hug her, to say how much they miss her. Thank you, Ms. Heiselman, for caring so much for ALL of your students. We hope Morgan gets to be one of yours too!

Side Note: My M & M's are like night and day, but yet are the same. Mason was fast and furious with the bowling ball. There were times I thought the ball was going to jump into the next lane. Morgan's approach was simply slow... and I mean so slow that she could bowl the ball, sit down and eat a few bites before it even hit the pins. And what were their scores - BOTH scored 129.
