One of the down sides of Scott being on the road (other than the fact that he is absent) is that he misses out on special events. I can’t remember the last time we were together on our actual anniversary date, and today is no different. It is days like this when I miss him more than usual. Thankfully a very good friend of mine, Christy, who by the way put aside volunteering obligations, house cleaning and Christmas assignments to accompany me to EPCOT. The Mouse himself had a special birthday gift waiting just for me – a $75 gift card with no expiration date - SWEET. As we walked through the park, I could not help but feel an overwhelming since of déjà vu. Just five months ago, Christy and I w

ere doing the same exact thing – grabbing a fast pass for Soarin’ (which yet again, we ran out of time to ride), stopped in every World Showcase shop, bought one of the biggest and best chocolate chip cookies ever and had lunch at my favorite place - the Moroccan restaurant , for the gyro platter. I am truly thankful for Christy making my birthday so special. Once home, I had to take off the birthday hat and put on the “Mom” one. I spent the rest of my birthday sitting in the dance studio lobby. I can’t complain though. I was still with my two wonderful children, and by 9 PM my final birthday gift arrived – Scott safely home! Special thanks to everyone who called, sent emails and facebook messages to wish me a happy one! It most definitely was!
