For the past few weeks Scott has been DVRing last year’s Gator games. The sounds of the cheers, whistles and calls bring such excitement and anticipation to another year of college football. Even Mason and Morgan were drawn into the enthusiasm as they sat down with their dad to observe what they thought were live games. I personally was amazed at how focused and concerned they were with each play. After explaining the Gators had already won the game, they were puzzled yet relieved. It got me thinking… Maybe it’s time for The Womack’s to visit The Swamp. With all of the kids' extracurricular activities scheduled for this fall, our only hope of seeing Tebow and crew play would be their opener. I quickly found out that ticket prices were way out of our league. We were at peace with our decision to watch the game on TV, but to our surprise one of Scott’s fraternity brothers could not use his four season tickets for the September 5th game. Let me add that Scott’s e-mail address was one of many who received this invitation, and our response came two hours after it was sent. We actually thought our response was too late, but still had to go for it. It SO paid off! Of course we had to hit the sports store to gear up our M & M’s for their first Gator game ever!

The trip to and from went well – just lots of traffic which was to be expected.

As an added bonus, the weather was nice and cool which made our journey throughout the campus such a pleasure. We explored the bookstore, met some Gator Majorettes and the Drum section before making it to our seats. M & M got lessons in chants and cheering. Morgan’s favorite is the Gator chomp and Mr. Two Bits. Mason LOVED jumping up and down when the Gators scored. Our little gators were great, VERY talkative and hungry, but great. As we were walking back to our van (which was parked a mile away – good thing they have been running that distance!), they asked when our next Gator game would be. We explained how the tickets are hard to get, but we would try again next year. I think I’m going to talk Scott into placing our names on the Season Ticket Holder list, so hopefully by the time the kids are in college (and maybe at UF), we’ll have them.
