Mother's Day

The festivities started Thursday afternoon with Mason “surprising” me with a heart-shaped Mother’s Day cake. Publix offered a special deal. They would bring in the cake and supplies, help your child decorate their cake, and part of the proceeds went back to the school. It actually was a surprise for me because I had forgotten all about it. Friday morning, it was Morgan’s turn. Her preschool invited each student’s mom for a special breakfast. At each seat were handmade gifts. My personal favorite was the “Mommy” portrait. Today was just what I needed – a day of rest! I did nothing. My husband and kids took me to Sports Authority for my present. I requested a running hat and dumb bells, but Scott wanted me to get exactly what I wanted. (Smart man!) I broke tradition this year and opted out for the Krystal burgers and shake to eat Thai food from Pei Wei. The best part of the day - watching classic Star Trek episodes with my M & M’s while hearing Mason say he wanted to be just like Captain James T. Kirk. I couldn’t be prouder! Thank you, Scott, for making the day very special! Thank you, Mason and Morgan, for your special gifts! Without you all, I could have never been a mom!

If only I was truly this skinny!
