Happy Birthday, Matthew!

Believe it or not, our family did not celebrate my brother’s birthday at Disney. I think we were all a bit “moused-out”. Plus with it being Memorial Day, we felt the crowds would be huge. So instead, Matthew asked for a brunch with his family. My mom did yet another superb job with the menu: biscuits, bagels, fruit, breakfast casserole, bacon, grits, and scrambled cheese eggs. Knowing that I am unable to still chew, she even had yogurt set aside for me to eat. (Mom, you are the best!) The cousins couldn’t swallow their food fast enough as they feasted their eyes on the chocolate cake and cupcakes centered on the table. Gwendolyn rallied for ice cream, and sure enough, my mom delivered. It was a great time to converse and catch up.

As I was watching my 27 year old brother open up his gifts, I could not get over how much he has grown. Not just physically, but emotionally, mentally and spiritually. He is one of the most caring, creative and compassionate people I know. I am so proud of him! I love you, Matthew – and wish you a wonderful evening out at Bern’s Steakhouse! Enjoy every minute of it… especially the Dessert Room!

Happy Birthday Matthew! The brunch menu sounds mouth watering. Glad it was a great day. Maybe Matthew can celebrate his half-birthday with the Mouse. :)
