Our Party Girl

I am surprised yet thrilled Morgan made it to her preschool Valentine’s Day party. We have had some issues with her not staying dry. The month of January was the worst we had seen it with her changing pants three to six times a day. I know most of it stemmed from our temporary move to Australia, but we still felt there was another factor. We tried rewards, punishments, ignoring it, and at last resort, seeing the doctor. Our pediatrician mentioned a few potty techniques that might help the situation, but as far as the test results went, all came back normal. Finally at my wits end I gave Morgan an ultimatum. She had two weeks to stay completely dry, no accidents at all or we were pulling her out of preschool. She would have to wait until Kindergarten to return back to school. With her eyes wide as can be, she asked, “Would I miss the Valentine’s Day party?” Finally we were getting somewhere. Come to find out our little party girl did not want to miss a single thing, especially when playing or coloring, and well – going to the bathroom would just be a waste of time. I am happy to report Morgan did make it through the two weeks. She still has accidents, but its once a week. This party was not one to miss. Mrs. Barretto always does an incredible job with each event, and this one was no different. The room was filled with heart-shaped cards, candy and activities. Each student was responsible for creating their own "mail box". Her design was a castle, complete with princess, knight, horse, dragon and drawbridge. Dress code for the day – PJs. Lunch – Pizza and cupcakes! Way to go, Morgan! We are proud of you. Keep up the great work. And a special thanks to Mrs. Barretto for her abundant patience, love and kindness. You are an amazing teacher!

Love Mrs. Barretto. Glad Morgan made it through the 2 weeks and was rewarded with such a fun event. I hope the 'accidents' end soon. Keep me posted.
