Tourist Time at T-Rex Cafe

It is always a treat when the Dotson’s come to town and a chance for us locals to be a tourist for awhile. This time our two families met up at Downtown Disney’s T-Rex Café. Between traffic and a monsoon, I honestly didn’t think we would ever make it. Thanks to the Dotson’s quick thinking, they were able to get our party of seven seated underneath the Ice Cave in less than five minutes. Let me say that as a local our family has explored the Mouse’s downtown shopping area more times than I can count. Never have I ever seen it as busy as it was that night… and on a Thursday night at that. Hordes of tourists in every direction which made the experience – well, a bit overwhelming on top of the craziness of how the café works. If you have never been, you must go at least once. It’s basically Rainforest Café but with dinosaurs. Be aware with those gigantic mechanical beast will come an equally sized price tag. Food is overpriced and mediocre at best. And with the one of a kind Build-A-Dino in the gift shop, the money in your wallet will soon become extinct. If you want a place to entertain your little prehistoric mammals while you eat, then this is the place. Don’t expect to hold an adult conversation or any conversation at that due to the noise level. I don’t regret going, but don’t think I’ll be back anytime soon.

I'm equal parts fascinated, equal parts horrified of that place. (I think Morgan's face in the first picture exactly captures my sentiments.)
