Who can resist seeing the mighty Mississippi River? The very name conjures up imagery of steamboats, a wooden raft carrying Huck Finn and Mark Twain. So we set “sail” on our Mississippi River adventure – First to cross over the bridge into Arkansas… (2 minutes later)… and we’re back! What a vast contrast between Memphis and whatever town we had entered in the Land of the Clintons. It was scary, and we drove back over as fast as we could. Once off the bridge we stopped at the Welcome Center to walk along the water’s edge. Oh it was an adventure alright. It was only 4:30 in the afternoon, and I was afraid for my life. If you notice in the photo above, my expression is not a happy one, more like a “oh, please tell me this homeless woman is not yelling at us!”. We quickly left after snapping just a few photos while this woman continued to yell (profanity included). The kids were so confused, kept starring at her which I’m sure fueled her ranting. Morgan kept asking what she had done to make this woman so upset.
