Reason #1 to Join Facebook

I fought joining anything on the internet which would display my personal business. When we got the word we would be temporarily moving to Australia, the situation forced me to change my view. I started blogging to keep friends and family informed of our daily adventures. I kept it open to everyone so no one would feel left out. Once we returned home, my cousin, Melanie sent me an invitation to view photos online via facebook. Little did I know it was a ploy for me to add my profile to the “Internet Friend Generator”. I thought, “Oh well, I’ll check it out. I mean, I already blog.” Well, the rest is history. This implementation has brought Scott and me great joy as we have reconnected with so many people. There are some friends I never thought I would EVER see again. And low and behold, I get to see their faces everyday! I love how my dear friend, Janet, put it… “It’s like a party on your computer!”

Not only am I reconnecting with former friends, but meeting new ones as well including one of Scott’s high school friends. I felt as if I had known her all my life! Today we had the opportunity to meet the entire Curee Family while they were vacationing in Orlando for Spring Break! It was such an honor to meet them in person, to put a voice with the face, and then to add two new facebook friends: her husband and daughter. We hope to meet up again real soon. Their son and daughter were simply amazing, especially with how they interacted with M & M! I think the last time Scott actually saw both of his McMinnville peers was on their high school graduation day. (PS – Sorry, Amy, for stealing your idea on how to blog this!)

"Internet Friend Generator"?!?! Is that really what Facebook calls itself? That's hysterical. I hope one day soon you blog about how the Arbaughs came to visit you guys! (Maybe a fall Disney trip?)

It is well said...

No stealing--a sharing of ideas! I love it! And I loved meeting you and the kids (oh yeah, and seeing Scott again! :)
Come to Georgia sometime! Or, let us know when you're going up to Tennessee and we'll try to head that way too. Your kids need a farm experience--and Scott needs to take you to "ride the strip"!
