It was hard to sleep last night.
No matter how hard I tried, I could not get the sound of marching music out of my head.
It was the theme music for my dreams.
LOL!
I felt like a pro on day two.
I knew where I was going and what to expect.
Plus it was nice not to worry about Morgan’s hair.
Team competition requires their locks to be in a bun.
So before we left for Winter Haven, our Twirl Girl was dressed from head to toe – ready to go.
Scott and Mason joined us for this event.
It was their first time going to a twirling competition, and I fear it may be their last.
It is definitely not a guy thing.
Thankfully Mason had his friend, Jacob to play with as well as his DS.
Scott brought a two inch stack of magazines to catch up on, so we were set.
The Sundancers yet again did an amazing job, bringing home more 1
st and 2
nd place trophies.
Their coaches, Miss Lynette and Miss Michele, are simply amazing how they can organize and keep up with all of the props, events and 40 plus girls.
There were some solo events during the day, and we had the honor of watching Alexa perform (video below).
At the end of the day, I was surprised to hear Scott say he would actually go to another competition, surprised that Mason picked up the baton to try it out a bit while one of the judges yelled to him “Guys can get a full scholarship to Penn State for twirling!”, and surprised that after two long days of baton competition the twirl girl wanted more.
