Date Night is Back!
Scott was in Atlanta for his birthday this year, so we postponed all the birthday fun for the weekend. And I could NOT wait! I finally arranged for a babysitter to come over for this evening. (Thank you, Amy Morris!) The birthday boy’s restaurant of choice was none other than Texas de Brazil - Churrascaria. Churrascaria (choo-rah-scah-REE-ah) is a Brazilian style steakhouse that serves meat, mostly grilled. There is no traditional menu. The price is fixed (and was happy that Scott had a birthday coupon!). There is an enormous salad bar including seafood, cheeses, and soups to name a few. It is very wise to skip this section, but it is so hard to do. The waiter hands you a circular
card – one side is green, the other is red. Once you are ready for your meal, you then turn the card to green and before you know it you are bombarded by wait staff that starts to serve a wide variety of different cuts of beef, pork, lamb, and chicken, in succession, right to your table, sliced right on your plate. A few side items are brought out, but the meal is mostly consists from a selection of 14 different meats. When you are finished sampling the vast array of grilled morsels, you flip the card to red. Let’s just say Scott and I skipped dessert! It was so nice to get out, just the two of us. The rest of the weekend we celebrated as a family, allowing Scott to pick out where he wanted to go for lunch and dinner (even though we were not hungry at all after the night before). Hopefully we will arrange for another night out before my birthday in December. LOL! Happy Birthday, My Love! I am so glad you were born!
