And that we did!
The rule for the day –
Relax, Indulge and Enjoy!
The kids played video games all day.
Scott and I took it easy by catching up on TV shows, reading and resting.
And indulge we did – on one HUGE shrimp platter.
We also discussed not having resolutions since they are too often broken and/or forgotten.
Instead we talked about setting goals for this year, and Goal #1: Bringing date nights back!
I like that one, and believe it to be highly achievable.
We also set in motion the goal of finally getting the house in order.
In May we set in motion plans to build an addition with pool, but thanks to the current bank situation and economy our project was shut down.
Instead of being bummed out, we started looking at what we have – which is a great house with a few rooms were barely use.
So I also took the time on the first day of the year to post furniture on Craig’s List as well as redesigning and reorganizing our home using a wonderful tool called Plan3D.
Our dining room and study will be transformed into more useful and functioning areas for our home.
(I promise to post updates of our progress.)
We truly wish everyone this year a better year, a happier year – one with joy and prosperity.
May the good times truly begin for everyone in 2010!

Love date nights.
And I'm honestly on the edge of my chair to see what you're going to do with your house. So smart of you to reorganize your house to make it more usable. My dining room is now my scrapbooking room. My mother-in-law made a comment about it not long ago and my response was "I could use it 5 times a year as a dining room or 5 times a week to craft with my girls". Not to mention, my formal living room is a playroom.
