With only a month’s worth of lessons, we were notified of Morgan’s first upcoming piano recital. She diligently practiced for the next month in preparation of the big day. Mr. Jose, her piano instructor, made the occasion extra special by arranging for all his students to play on a Steinway grand piano. I thought Morgan would be nervous, but she loved the experience. It was amazing to see all of Mr. Jose’s students perform, especially a few of his very young prodigies playing Beethoven and Mozart at an adult level. And I have to give praise to Mason for being very patient for the two hour performance when his sister was the first performer. We HAD to wait till the end so Morgan could receiver her trophy! ;-)
First of all, she's adorable! Next, may I say that I LOVE her teacher for sitting and playing with her instead of making her sweat it out and deal with the pressure all alone up there. What kindness and understanding he showed by doing this--wish I had had a piano teacher like this when I was young!
* "Morgan, you need to get your brain into my brain!" - Mason (trying to order his sister around!)
* "Where is the whooshie tooter?" - Morgan (to Mason) * "How do you use the force?" - Mason (to Mommy)
* "Mommy, where is Daddy?" He is cleaning his room. (Without missing a beat and with a surprised face) "I didn't know that Daddy had toys too!" - Morgan
* I am not on your team! I am a princess fairy! - Morgan (to Mason)
* My new name is Walking Brain. - Mason
* Do you know those guys, the ones who wear makeup, but not girl make up, boy make up, with the black and the white... (referring to KISS) - Morgan
* (After coming from the garage) I check back and forth to see where the spiders are. They are like the cars and I am like the person walking across the street. I have to be careful. - Mason
* One of Morgan's classmates says, "I have been to Disney on Ice!" Morgan's reply, "Well, I have been to Disney on Land!" - Morgan
