First let me send a shout out to my cousin, Melanie, who is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday, Cuz! (This is one of my favorite photos of Melanie.) Her birth date is also a reminder that the summer is half way over, and I honestly can’t comprehend it. The kids got out of school June 9th and after that- it is a blur. In a nutshell, lots of packing, unpacking and traveling by car and plane. Here’s a little recap for those of you who are not on facebook and only keep up with the Womack’s via the blog: Thanks to Camp PawPaw & Nonnie’s, Scott and I had a week together in NYC. Even though Scott had to work, we made the most of it, counting it as our 15th anniversary getaway. I can never say thank you enough to my parents for allowing us this special and incredible time together without the kids. Once we returned home from the Big Apple, we literally had a day and a half to unpack and repack for our annual summer adventure. This year’s journey was to the Wild West. We flew into Denver, Colorado and drove through Wyoming and South Dakota while stopping at various points of interest. It was our best family vacation so far to date. We highly recommend traveling to see Mount Rushmore as well as the national parks within the area like Custer State Park and Jewel Cave. My eyes have never seen such beautiful lands. God is an amazing artist! I do promise to post pics and a few stories of our trip in the next couple of blogs, and I also promise to keep it short and sweet. Ciao for now!
