There is not a day that goes by of when I think of my Uncle Mike.
Not a day of when I think of the missed moments I let pass by and could have shared with him.
He was a gentle, kind and quiet soul, and when he spoke, you listened.
There is not a day that goes by when as I am struggling with the hustle and bustle of life’s chores that I think of the pain and suffering Uncle Mike went through with his cancer.
Not a day of when I think of what my Aunt Janet and my cousins, Brian and Justin have endured.
My Aunt Janet is a strong and courageous woman w

ho is and continues to be a wonderful inspiration and role model not only to me, but for our extended family as well.
Brian and Justin radiate what their parents have taught them as they shine brightly for the world to see.
There is not a day that goes by of when I repeat a phrase my father mentioned Mike saying while in the hospital, “It is what it is.”
Not a day of when I apply it and use it to give me strength.
It is a day like today of when I am thankful for people who five years ago started a fund raising goal to benefit all who enter the doors of the Moffitt Cancer Center.
A day like today when I see our family come together in our bright yellow shirts to not only show our loss of a loved one, but to show our love for one another. It is a day like today when I am proud of our relatives (Way to go, Melanie, Dana and Uncle Dean!) who run the five miler and 5K in sweltering heat in memory of our fallen.
It is a day like today when I hug my relatives a little tighter, hold on to the conversations a little longer and cherish this event as it binds us together a little closer.
It was a day to mark four years of reminiscing, bonding and support.
