Instead of whining about how early it was, how tired she was… instead of taking thirty minutes to eat breakfast, of dragging to get ready… instead of complaining of her head hurting while I brushed and styled her hair, my little twirl girl took charge and responsibility for her actions.
Morgan was doing her best, and that is all I ever ask.
I was truly surprised at how sharp and quick her 180 degree turn had become.
This was also prevalent throughout today’s team competition.
There were times she started to tell others what to do or get a bit spacey, but as soon as I gave her “the look”, she was back on track without hesitation.
The Sundancers yet again did amazing job.
I was unable to see some of the performances due to my volunteer time for concessions.
This is how the team raises money for the girls to go to nationals and I don’t regret a single second of working that shift.
In fact, there were several parents who worked there the entire TWO DAYS!!!
Thank you, Alicia and Kelley, for your time and dedication… and to all the other parents an

d family members who worked the concession stand as well.
I did get the opportunity to see the Gatorettes twirl.
Best part of their performance was watching Morgan’s face.
She even got the courage to walk over and congratulate them.
There was some pretty tough competition this time around from a HUGE 500+ group based out of South Florida, and yet our advanced girls earned first place.
Morgan’s team brought home a couple more first place trophies as well.
Way to go, Sundancers, on such an amazing baton season.
Thank you so much, Miss Lynette and Miss Michele for all that you do!
And another special thanks goes out to
Renee Photo Studio who captured some amazing shots of the girls and Morgan from the two day event!
Renee, you rock!
So on the way
home, I asked Morgan yet again if she still enjoyed baton after this weekend, and her answer still remains unchanged!
