I honestly can’t believe that my last blog entry was almost two months ago and we are about to start the third week of school. Why does time always seem to pass by faster as we get older? I sometimes feel as if I am living life in the fast forward mode where most of time seems like a blur. In fact, so blurry that I can’t even recall what I did the last half of summer, let alone what I did just yesterday. I am going to do my best to recap and bring the Womack Adventures up to date (especially for those who are not on Facebook). OK , so let’s see what I can remember… After Wyoming, we spent the bulk of our vaca in the area surrounding Rapid City, South Dakota. And I am happy to say that Scott and I can cross off the following items off of our Bucket List:
1.1 Mt. Rushmore (A MUST – words can’t describe what it is like to see it in person)
2.2 Crazy Horse (Not finished, and no clue when it will be)
3. Badlands (I would not ever want to get stuck out there all by myself.)
4. Sturgis (Nothing to write home about or take a photo of)
5. Deadwood ( THE Biggest Tourist Trap EVER)
6. Rockerville (Became a ghost town after a highway was added to Mt. Rushmore)
8. Exploring Wind & Jewel Cave
9. Wall Drug (Another MUST – The largest drug store in our nation and possibly the world.)
10. Photographing and eating Buffalo
South Dakota is absolutely gorgeous. I have never seen such beautiful country like this before. We assumed that it would not be a busy place to visit since it is so far away from true civilization. Quite the opposite… apparently the area from Rapid City to Yellowstone National Park is a HUGE vacation destination for many mid-westerners. Regardless of the high number of tourists, we still enjoyed our journey. Our last day of trip was spent in Denver, Colorado where we explored Estes Park and Bear Lake during the day and meeting one of Scott’s fraternity brothers, Derek and his lovely wife, Lisa for dinner that evening.
(Photo by Derek) The best way I can sum up our experience in The Rockies is now I have a desire to move there! I wish I could bottle up that mountain air and bring it back home. We asked Mason and Morgan if they would like to live in Denver. They actually thought it over for awhile, but then came to the conclusion that there is no substitute for the Magic Kingdom. The Mouse has brainwashed our kids!

What a great experience. You guys are inspirational. Life is short. Thank you for reminding us all to get out there and work on our bucket lists.
Great pics! A few years ago, Jacob got a T-shirt from Wal Drug from our aunt in South Dakota. We didn't realize the story behind it.
I can't wait to copy you and go on the same vacation!
